Kelea Costa Rica was formed by Elenice Senn and Stephanie Tufts, two women who love the sport of surfing and being active outdoors. Kelea began in Hawaii as the worlds first 'Surf Spa' and expanded operations to Costa Rica to become the first all girls Surf Spa in Central America. |

Kelea Costa Rica is located in Malpais. Malpais is situated on the Pacific coast of Costa Rica
specifically on the southern tip of the Nicoya peninsula. Known as the Hawaii of Latin America,
there are several beaches to swim, dive or snorkel though it's main attraction is its unique
conditions for surfing and its pristine subtropical nature. The Cabo Blanco National Park is
located 3km south, a paradise for nature lovers. Life is regulated by the season, the tides and
the phases of the moon, punctuated by fervent soccer on sunday and the saturday night dance.
Surf conditions and water temperatures in Malpais and Santa Teresa are ideal
throughout the year. During the dry season, from Mid-November to April, there
are consistent winds blowing from the northeast, creating ideal waves for surfing.
| At this area of the Costa Rican Pacific coast, rip tides are not so heavy
and the surf is superb for experts and beginners. There is a variety of
waves to catch including lefts and rights, beach and reef breaks, hollow
waves and low tide beach breaks. The Ticos and their Pura Vida lifestyle
add the final touch to this fantastic Costa Rican experience. |
