in |

cure! |

Janice Bastien was born and raised in Long Island, New York. After graduating from the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York, her love of the ocean and swimwear brought her to Southern California where she worked in the fashion industry for nine years. She always loved coming to Hawaii and on one trip she never left. |
|
After witnessing the damage inflicted on her skin by years in the sun, Janice decided to learn to heal herself. After educating herself about skin care, she was inspired to start a new career in esthetics in order to help others protect and heal their skin. She attended the International School of Beauty and Esthetics in Honolulu for formal training and is currently an esthetician at the Turtle Bay Resort here on the North Shore. |

I came to Hawaii in 1995 to pursue a career in surfing.I have surfed competitively for 8 of the last 12 yrs.
I have been a Licensed Massage Therapist for 8 yrs and a Licensed Esthetician for 4 yrs. I have worked, as
both at Aveda for the last 6 yrs. Because of my life long interest in anything active, I found massage to
be a natural extension of my |
|
passions and a very suitable profession for my lifestyle out here on the North Shore. And after being introduced
to the benefits of serious skin care, esthetics became a very appealing addition. Besides my spa work, I also enjoy
some stunt and surf related media work.
I am currently getting my National Massage Certification; Orthepedic Assessment and Rehab Certification; and National
Personal Training Certification. I will be living and working in The Newport, CA area this summer, doing an internship
at a Sports Medicine clinic; hopefully a stint at the US Olympic Training Center. |

I have been practicing yoga for many years. When I moved to the U.S 3 years ago from Brazil, I started following the teachings of Sri Dharma Mittra, who soon became my Guru and took my yoga practice to a whole different level. I am now a dedicated student of Sri Dharma, and completed my certification course in June 2007. |
|
I became a Yoga Instructor with the purpose of sharing the teachings of my Guru and helping people get a better understanding of their bodies and minds. I love teaching yoga to surfers because I know that strength and flexibility, combined with concentration and control of the mind can help improve ones surfing performance.

10 year surf trip around the world and she became a resident of Oahu.
Graduating from Hawaii Healing Arts College and licensed in 2005, in 2006 Chiharu opened her own practice at east side of Oahu.

The earliest memory of massage that Vina had was when she was 12 years old. She sprained her ankle three times in one month. Her mom dragged her to see this old, old man who could “fix” her injury. He stretched, massaged and manipulated the injury for what seemed like eternity. But all she could remember was walking out of his house without a brace or crutches.
|
|
Originally from Waialua, she returned to the islands after living in Washington State for four years. She graduated from Hawaii Healing Arts College in 2004 and continues to specialize in Lomi Lomi and Infant/ Child Massage. She contributes her experience at the Honolulu Marathon, Hawaii Prince Hotels, and Wellness Center located in Enchanted Lake. She currently works at Heaven on Earth Day Salon and Spa and this will be her second year with Kelea. On her down time she enjoys playing chutes and ladders and “go fish” and every outdoor activity that will tire her 5 year-old twin boys. She finds that getting a massage is as therapeutic as giving one.
