No matter where you’re at in your journey, our surf instructors will help you reach your surfing goals.
We pride ourselves on our personalized, encouraging, and safe hands-on approach to surfing. Due to our intimate group size, you’ll receive one-on-one attention and constructive feedback from our instructors, so that you’ll spend more time surfing and less time waiting in the waves for guidance.
Surf lessons begin on the beach where you’ll learn water safety, paddling techniques and surf etiquette. Instructors will be by your side, in the water, until you stand up on your first wave. Our instructors have several years of surfing instruction experience and CPR training. All lessons are taught at nearby beaches with slow, rolling waves. If you are an advanced surfer, we can take you to several more challenging surf breaks. We provide all surf equipment.

Yoga offers great benefits for surfers. Yoga increases mental clarity and our ability to concentrate, and its continued focus on intentional breathing helps to increase lung capacity, while helping to lengthen our ability to retain the breath. Yoga also increases our flexibility, tone, strength, and our balancing skills.
Your yoga sessions at Kelea will support you in your surfing, so that you can feel stronger and more flexible when out in the waves, and you’ll feel more stable and balanced when on your board.
Yoga is offered in the afternoon for a post-surf session cooldown.
Surfing, although fun and exhilarating, is a demanding sport that can lead to tight and sore muscles. Massage can help ease tired muscles, relax and restore the body, and help prevent future injuries or ailments. Massage increases oxygen flow in the blood and releases toxins from muscles, which helps to shorten recovery time from muscular strain. It stretches the ligaments and tendons, keeping them supple and pliable, which will help you feel more comfortable out in the water.
You’ll receive a one-hour full body massage at Kelea. Additional massages are available at a cost to the guest, if you’d like to add this service to your retreat experience.

A Day in the Life of a Kelea Surf Spa GuestKelea Surf Spa offers planned activities throughout the day. We encourage each of our guests to choose when and if they want to participate or simply relax quietly for rest and rejuvenation.
7am - 10am | Morning Surf Lessons
10am - 11:30am | Breakfast
11:30am-2:30pm | Free time: rest by the pool, nap in the hammock, hike, shop in town, swim, enjoy lunch in town, etc.
2:30-4:30pm | Free time: afternoon surf session; nap; beach comb, etc.
4:30pm - 7:30pm | Yoga, Massages [2 yoga classes, and 1 massage are included in package]
8pm | Dinner
